Twisting Away from the Rope

Do you have catch and release dreams? Are you ready to burn your finger tips? In this workshop, we’ll dive into three pirouette variations, from standard full release pirouette, to the semi-release knee hang and neck hang variations.

We’ll cover progressions and strengthen beat pathways to make these dynamic skills attainable!

Cost:
$100 ($75 if enrolled in Rope Meeting!)

Prerequisites:
Students should have comfortable plank beats and be familiar with front and back beats. Previous training in semi-release moves is helpful but not required. Students should be prepared to practice falling onto mats!

12 & up or by permission of instructor

About The Coach

Rachel Rees is a dynamic circus and theatre artist from New Orleans, LA. She graduated from NECCA’s ProTrack program in 2019 where she continues to train and coach vertical rope. In her work, Rachel aims to combine high-level technique with high art to create imaginative pieces of storytelling.

She earned a BFA in Theatre Arts from Boston University and has trained in physical theatre intensively with Double Edge Theatre and internationally at the Accademia dell’Arte (IT).

Rachel is passionate, driven, and a visionary, always on the lookout for her next collaboration at home in the States and abroad.
