Julia Langenberg is a professional aerialist, director, and coach, who recently returned from performing and teaching in Austria, Germany, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, and across the US. She is a 2 time US Aerial Championship finalist has performed internationally with Jean Ann Ryan Productions, Entertainment Plus Productions, MOTH Poetic Circus, Nimble Arts, SeaWorld, World Entertainment, Oma Entertainment, Blue Lapis Light, Cirque Imagination, Sharir+Bustamante Danceworks, and Ballet East.
In addition to her performing career, Julia built an aerial community in San Antonio, TX, where none existed before. Her dedication to teaching, performing, and recruiting other professional aerialists to the area, led to the formation of Aerial Horizon. As the Artistic Director, Julia created and directed sold out circus shows, founded the Aerial Theory Summit, developed curriculum and teacher trainings, and ran a flourishing circus school for over a decade. Julia also created and taught one of the first college level aerial dance courses in the nation and she guest lectures at universities across the country.
Graduating from the New England Center for Circus Arts Professional Track Program in 2013, Julia majored in fabric and minored in dance/acrobatics on the invented ground halo apparatus. Julia is a versatile artist who earned a vocal scholarship and graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance, sang with the Austin Opera, the Grammy nominated choir Conspirare, performed with a variety of national modern dance companies, and taught all styles of ballroom dance through the Arthur Murray studios.
