Weekend Immersion: Lyra w/ Megan Mallouk

Date: March 30-31, 2019
Cost: $350 ($325 early bird before 3/8)
Instructor: Megan Mallouk
Age: 16 & up or by permission
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Turn up the heat on your lyra style with this Weekend Immersion! Learn to fill the space and navigate different pathways of the aerial hoop, be it single or double point. We will twist, twirl, beat, and roll from top to bottom, working above the bar in the ropes, central, and below, as well as exploring those always forgotten outside edges. Students will be introduced to short sequences, combining both static shapes and dynamic movement. Through the breakdown of these sequences, students will be introduced to single skills and will learn to seamlessly connect them through subtle movement.

Prerequisites: This workshop is geared towards the intermediate to advanced student with current aerial practice who is comfortable doing multiple inversions cleanly through short and long arm hangs, can maintain a single knee hang hands-free, find a back balance without assistance, and hold a front balance and a one arm hang for 10 seconds.
