Weekend Immersion: Cloud Swing w/ Megan Mallouk

When: April 6-7, 2019
Cost: $350 ($325 early bird registration before March 15)
Instructors: Megan Mallouk
Age: 16 & up or by permission
Schedule: Sat 12:00 pm - 6:30pm & Sun 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Move up, down, and all around on this double point apparatus that is a beautiful marriage between trapeze, sling, and aerial rope. Bring us your aerial curiosity and we'll dive into skills transferred from other static apparatus and some that are unique to the cloud swing. Explore skills and sequencing, including mounts, dismounts, climbs, beats, rolls, and inversions. Although mostly static, we will explore some light movement through swaying and twisting. You'll leave knowing the cloud swing as so much more that just a simple rope loop.

Pre-requisites: This workshop is designed for those with current aerial practice at an intermediate level. Students should be comfortable inverting cleanly multiple times in the air (not kicking off the ground), be able to hold a front balance hands-free, and move freely around an apparatus with one arm. Please wear clothing that covers the backs of knees and bring layers.

About the Instructor: Megan Mallouk has spent the last decade performing in Chicago and along the East Coast, on stage, in the air, in commercials and on film. She is a former rhythmic gymnast who competed nationally and internationally. Megan taught at both the competitive and recreational level at Illinois Rhythmics, along side Olympic coach Irina Vdovets Azran and Olympic bronze medalist Olena Vitrychenko. Megan is a graduate of the full time training program at AirCraft Circus in London and the professional training programs at NECCA. Check her out on Instagram @miss_macaroni
