The FlyTeam Program at the New England Center for Circus Arts is designed to help aspiring flying trapeze artists develop the training techniques and habits necessary to learn and perform high level skills on the flying trapeze.
We’ve designed a comprehensive curriculum that approaches all aspects of flying trapeze. Our Strength and Conditioning classes focus on developing the strength and explosive power necessary in flying trapeze. The Trampoline and Tumbling classes are designed to help students develop the aerial awareness and movement pathways involved in more complex trapeze skills. Our Handstand classes will provide balance to our strength training and are an excellent way to develop body awareness. Our Flying Trapeze classes will focus on learning the proper form and technique needed to execute high level skills. Students will also have opportunities to learn how to perform various roles around the rig such as catching and pulling lines.
This program is designed to help flyers identify their goals and to give them the tools necessary to ensure their success.

Why circus school?
Perhaps you're wondering what circus school can offer that you can't get on your own. The answer is EVERYTHING!
• Dedicated career coaches there to pay attention to your every move, correct form, give you the tools for training in a methodical (and body smart!) way, and give you the skills, techniques and creative instigation you didn't even know existed.
• Work the things you don't want to work. That's right - Don't you have things you KNOW you should be working on, but somehow always find a reason not to? Of course you do! Circus school coaches are there to make sure nothing falls through the cracks and you become a well-balanced artist with all the skills.
• A group of people working as hard as you are! There's nothing like being in a group of supportive artists working just as hard as you are and making gains every day towards a circus career. Seeing other people do the impossible and come back for more means that there is inspiration around you on a daily basis.
• Networking. We hold auditions for other organizations and happily send referrals to a vast number of performance companies for our graduates. People call us to find their next performer and that makes it easier on our students to find work.
