We have several important standards for the type of mask you may train in at NECCA. Please make sure your mask meets the following requirements:
Masks must be made of at least 2 layers of fabric and completely fitted. Please be sure your mask touches all sides of your face. We do not allow bandanas, blue paper surgical masks or neck gaiters. Check out this video on mask fit!
As of April 12, all unvaccinated staff and students age 16 and older who receive training for three hours or more per day must double mask for extra precaution as increased aspiration puts everyone at greater risk of transmission. Session class students have also been asked to wear double masks. As of May 17, all vaccinated persons may wear one mask, with proof of vaccination. Double masks should follow one of the following configurations:
- Two Cloth masks – to ensure no gaps and a better fit.
- Paper Mask under Fabric Cloth mask – the cloth mask weighs the paper mask down for a better fit.
All students and staff may wear a single mask when out-of-doors at NECCA, regardless of vaccination status.
As of May 17, anyone who is fully vaccinated (at least 2 weeks past their final shot) may wear one cloth mask instead of a double mask.
We may ask you to modify your mask if it does not meet this requirement. Your mask must not fall off during training. You may be asked to leave if this issue occurs.
