Melissa Knowles

Melissa Knowles
Melissa K. Knowles is energetic to the extreme! She is a hula hooper, juggler, acro-balancer, stilter, aerialist, hand-balancer, musician, artist, and teacher. Before discovering circus, she received degrees in Art and Psychology from the University of Tennessee. She went on to become a founding member of both FutureNow! Productions and the Bellingham Circus Guild and had recently completed the professional training program at NECCA. She has taught juggling, partner acro, hooping, trapeze and other basic circus skill workshops with the New Old Time Chautauqua Show, Power of Hope, Hawaii Circus Retreat, FutureNow! Productions, Wunderle's Big Top Adventures, Van Lodostov's family circus and different local non-profits. Her favorite thing about teaching and performing circus is the way it empowers people to do things they always thought impossible, but had just never tried.

"[The coach] does an excellent job meeting each student at his/her own level and honoring each student's individual pace, and at the same time, challenges me just the right amount to go beyond what I thought were my limits."
